Fall styles feature CLT boss babes

Want some inspiration on how to style this year’s trends for fall? Check out these amazing boss babes here in Charlotte I styled with Worthy Figures’ new arrivals for fall. Learn a little about their businesses and experience with Worthy Figures.

Jessica, owner, Shimmer Down - @shimmer.down

Working with Worthy Figures was amazing because our missions so closely align. There’s such an under representation of plus size fashion for women. Being able to shop for and wear trendy clothes is about so much more than jeans or jackets; it’s about the validation that the body you’re in is perfect the way it is.
— Jessica

Shimmer Down was created with the idea that a little glitter can take the ordinary and make it extraordinary! Jessica wanted to create a fun way to take someone’s inner “shimmer” and give them an outward expression that sparks confidence and makes people feel as beautiful as they truly are.

Jessica is wearing some glam and rocker looks to capture her style. Mixing glam and casual together is a really stylish look that shows you know how to pull an outfit together. Sequins and sneakers may sound crazy, but sneakers are really having a moment in fashion right now. Jessica has amazing legs, so we made sure to show those off with her styles. I’m all about women loving every party of your body, but like just about anything in life, you may have a favorite. If you have something you love to show off about your body, do it! I’ve asked women before what they like to show off about their bodies with their clothes, and some women don’t have anything to say. I encourage women struggling with loving their bodies to start being kind in your thoughts and actions to yourself. It’s really helped me to follow body positive influencers on social media. If you want to find some support and encouragement, join my Body Positive Community CLT Facebook group.

I love working with Worthy Figures to find great pieces that fit my style while making me feel good! It’s great to have a local boutique to shop with that makes everyone feel welcome and worthy of a great wardrobe!
— Stephanie

Stephanie, owner, Crowned Sparrow - @crownedsparrowco

Crowned Sparrow Craft Co. is focused on helping people feel creative again and have fun doing it! With most classes taking place where you can also purchase craft beer, it's the perfect night out for fun with your friends or a great date night! The best part is getting to take home something that you've made!

Stephanie really liked the more casual looks that fit her everyday lifestyle. She recently purchased some amazing Frye boots while in Austin, so we styled her outfits with those for sheer perfection! I mean who isn’t obsessed with Frye? She’s wearing some sweaters I’m carrying this fall paired with her favorite jeans and leather leggings from Worthy Figures. The “Bless Your Heart” shirt is by Reese Witherspoon’s line Draper James and their collaboration with Eloquii. What an amazing Southern look! This is a great tailgating and football game top for your teams in red and white (Go Pack!).

When I met Amy from Worthy Figures, I completely connected with her, not only because I’m a plus figure woman, but because she was also helping others in the same way I was helping my customers. We both bring something different to the table with accessible prices that was hard to find in Charlotte.
— Nadya

Nadya, owner and creator, Bajari - @bajaridesigns

Bajari is a jewelry line created by Nadya Alemán. Years before she started making jewelry, she developed a bad reaction from wearing the wrong metals. It was really hard to find designs that she liked that used only high quality metals for an affordable price. She started creating for herself and then learned she wasn’t the only one!

Nadya brought her A-game for the photoshoot! She tried on so many different looks and was adventurous to try new things outside her comfort zone. The dresses she’s wearing are by Boohoo and are great transitional pieces from summer to fall. They’re lightweight and won’t be too hot for those warmer fall days here in the South. But, their color and prints work for fall. The peep-toe bootie is also a great in between warm and cold weather shoe. She’s also really pulling off the leather looks whether it was a skirt, jacket or leggings. Her style is quite like her jewelry, blooming wherever it goes!

Amber Pate, graphic designer and creator, Ambear Art - @iambearart

Working with Worthy Figures has been an amazing experience! As someone who struggles with finding pieces that work I really felt comfortable in everything that was picked out. I felt less stressed compared to going out and digging only to find a piece I like not in my size. I felt confident, beautiful and like myself with the wardrobe from Worthy Figures.
— Amber

Ambear Art is quirky and sassy puns put to digital art currently available in prints and totes. What started out as a funny doodle inspired by a friend turned into another idea and then another! It has been a slow start but I have really been trying to be part of the art community through pop-ups and supporting other females in the arts and their businesses.

Amber is also a chameleon in front of the camera. She looked amazing in all the looks we styled her in for fall. As also seen on Stephanie, gingham is in for fall too, and it’s all about the styling. Pair with some cute sneakers, like Stephanie’s look, or with a little more rocker vibe like Amber and her black boots. I also wanted to put her in this graphic blouse with avocado prints to fit her artsy vibe.

Bailey Upchurch, makeup artist and business owner - @baileyupchurchmua

Bailey decided to work for herself and dedicated her business to making women look and feel beautiful on their wedding day and other special events. She’s made many brides look absolutely stunning with her makeup designs and provides lots of great makeup and product reviews on her Instagram.

Bailey is absolutely gorgeous, and I put her in more boho and girly looks since that’s her style. I love this maxi dress paired with a jean jacket, which is a great transition into fall look. I’m a big fan of classic or “plain” styles that have a little detail like this sweatshirt with the laces. It’s so cute, and the slight puffed sleeves gives it a little something too. Again, this twist front top also looks gorgeous on her too! Getting a little more sassy, we put her in the leather leggings and matched it with the girly “She in shenanigans” graphic tee. Too adorable!

Melissa (Mo) Wineman, artist - @owlymo

I try to wear fun patterns and things to reflect my personality and my art, and after meeting Amy with Worthy Figures, I have been able to express myself with fun outfits with more ease. Also having done a few modeling sessions with her, which have not only been a blast, but also have made me feel better about myself and my body.
— Mo

Growing up in a creative environment, I’ve always thrived in art and stretching the lines of reality onto paper. My passion has always been to translate my imagination and mystical creatures to a medium that everyone can see. Life is full of endless possibilities. So is Art. There maybe 2000 ways to write a song but to me there are 50,000 different ways to draw something. Always find creative ways to live my life each day; from turning my family and friends into quirky characters or everyday landscapes into mystical places.

Mo is so much fun, and I love that she’s willing to try anything on! She’s strutting her stuff in our graphic tee and leather jacket. The metallic on this jacket gives it a trendy, rocker vibe. It’s very flattering too because it’s cut higher in the back to sit just above the hips to show your figure. Her other look is this great satin bomber jacket. Bomber jackets are a great alternative to a cardigan for fall because they’re stylish yet still usually lightweight. I paired it with a leather skirt in a camel color, which is always in style for fall!
